Pete Sinclair has over 20 years of senior operating and eight years of venture capital experience. He has been CEO of companies that he successfully sold to Microsoft, Novell, and Adobe Systems, and has participated in two IPOs. He started his career with Hewlett-Packard and joined Apple Computer when it was still a small private company. He has raised money from and worked for some of the top venture capital firms. Mr. Sinclair has a B.S. in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a graduate of Stanford Business School's Executive Program for Small Company Presidents.
Tom McNeight Consultant, Software and Security Industries
Tom McNeight is a software and security technology veteran having served in key roles ranging from sales executive to President and Chief Executive Officer. McNeight was the President and CEO of GuardedNet, Inc., a security information management (SIM) software company acquired by Micromuse, which was subsequently acquired by IBM. He also served as a top executive at Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS) where he was responsible for building the field operations. Prior to ISS, Mr. McNeight was the Vice President of Sales for TSW International, a provider of plant maintenance and management software, and before that, President and CEO of Aurum Software, a leading sales force automation company subsequently sold to Baan International. His career also includes a fifteen year tenure with Dun & Bradstreet Software (formerly Management Science America) rising from sales executive to Executive Vice President of the Americas, responsible for a $345,000,000 business unit. A former commissioned officer in the United States Army serving in Europe and Southeast Asia, Mr. McNeight received his B.A. in Chemistry from Oklahoma State University and his M.S. in Management Science from Texas Christian University. He serves on the boards of SecureWorks, Inc. and vmSight.
Srivats Sampath Entrepreneur
Srivats Sampath is a serial entrepreneur who brings over twenty years of management, investment and technical experience. An experienced leader, he has run large corporations and organizations, as well as conceiving, funding and building successful start-up companies.
He previously served as founder, president and CEO of McAfee.com (NASDAQ: MCAF). He built the company into one of the largest and most successful subscription-based, SaaS security services for consumers and small-to-medium sized businesses. Srivats orchestrated a successful IPO in December 1999, followed by the successful merger with Network Associates (NYSE: NET) in October 2002, which has now become McAfee Inc. (NYSE: MFE). Prior to McAfee, Srivats was the vice president of product marketing at Netscape Communications (NASDAQ:NSCP), and was Founder, President and CEO of Discussions Corporations, a leading developer of email-based groupware solutions. He also served in executive-level capacities for Central Point Software and as a co-founder and technical architect of Intel’s LAN Enhancement Operations. He started his professional career by co-founding Mecon (NASDAQ:MECN), a healthcare software company, which was subsequently acquired by GE (NYSE:GE). Most recently, Srivats was the co-founder, president & CEO of Mercora, a social music company.
Srivats is also an active angel investor and director, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Voltage Security. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Madras University, India.
Tim Dick (Board observer) General Partner, Startup Capital Ventures Tim was Founder of Hawaii Superferry, a company that brings energy-efficient inter-island ferry service to Hawaii. Prior to that, Tim was Founder and President of Grassroots.com, a political web technology company. In 1995, he founded WorldPages.com, the Internet's first white & yellow pages, which went public and was subsequently acquired by Transwestern Publishers (now BT). Previously, Tim was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group where he led CEO-level strategy consulting work on a global basis with significant work in transportation, oil & gas, nuclear generation & electric utility industries along with key groups like the Electric Power Research Institute. Tim was an electrical engineer at Beckman Instruments where he developed the first electronic speech synthesizer for use in hospital intensive care units, and the world's first instrument-on-a-chip. A believer in social responsibility, Tim co-founded TRUSTe.org, which has become the Internet's privacy standard. He serves or has served as board member and advisor to numerous companies, including WorldPages (NYSE), Hawaii Superferry, Emptor / Accept (acquired by Amazon), Affinity Engines, match.com (IAC), Biopacific, Dali Wireless and Silvertail Systems.
