JOB DESCRIPTION:

Silver Tail Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with substantial experience deploying complex enterprise/network software applications inside a customer’s own firewall. . The two primary responsibilities will be to a) deploy the Silver Tail product suites and b) provide support to ensure continued customer success with those deployments. This individual should be highly motivated, resourceful, enjoy taking on new challenges, and be very comfortable working with the IT and security teams in the world’s largest data centers. Silver Tail’s customers are distributed around the world, so in addition to extensive travel, this will position will require the ability to deliver technical solutions to a remote and distributed team. This position is part of the Professional Services organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior Systems Engineer will:

• Perform remote and on-site installations of Silver Tail Systems software to meet customer requirements and expectations
• Work closely with the sales, support and customer organizations to support pre-and post sales system deployments
• Diagnose and repair system implementations to ensure proper operation of the SilverTail suite
• Configure Silver Tail Systems’ products and help accounts with on-site architectural reviews, network planning and design sessions, to be sure that their systems will function as expected
• Lead project deployments with minimal supervision
• Respond to customer system issues and ensure they are driven to resolution
• Interact with the development team to develop thorough understanding of product architecture and stay expert in current product offerings
• Able to travel easily – both in the US and off-shore, more than 50%

QUALIFICATIONS:
A solid understanding of the online or website fraud space, coupled with substantial technical and people skills will be essential for success in this role.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in support, engineering, or a combination of the two delivering enterprise software systems including demonstrated design, implementation and troubleshooting skills
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or the equivalent in work experience
• Must be expert in LINUX and fluent with shell scripting skills
• Solid understanding of networking, Internet and web site concepts and solutions including data flow, SPAN ports, HTTP/S, DNS, firewall/security concepts, configuration design, maintenance, and administration
• Experience with LDAP, gdb, packaging tools (yum, rpm, apt-get), and case management systems (OTRS, Remedy, etc.)
• Experience with port mirroring (SPAN or VACL)
• Experience with secure protocols (SSL and HTTPS)
• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated experience working directly with customers in the delivery, sales and account management process
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Team player with very good interpersonal skills and a track record of working closely with colleagues to achieve goals
• Intelligent and creative. Self-starter, customer-centric
