JOB DESCRIPTION:

Silver Tail Systems is looking for an experienced Operations and Support Engineer with the substantial support experience, technical skills and a solid understanding of the online or website fraud space. This role encompasses both internal system operations and external customer support. The role will be muti-faceted, highly varied, and driven by the need to support a company experiencing hyper-growth. This individual should be highly motivated, resourceful, enjoy taking on new challenges, and be very adept at working in a small company. This candidate will join a small but growing team of professionals who are true A players in their respective areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and support Silver Tail Systems Internal System Operations
  • Manage the company’s internal networks including development and production
  • Manage ‘remote-hands’ at Silver Tail Systems’ datacenter
  • Manage capacity planning of Silver Tail Systems’ environments
  • Assist Silver Tail Systems’ Solutions Engineering team:
  • Respond to customer system issues and ensure they are driven to resolution
  • Perform remote installations of Silver Tail Systems software
  • Interact with the development team to understand software issues and resolution of those issues
  • Consistently evaluate the installation process to find new ways to improve the perceived value of the offerings.
  • Candidate will be a supportive team member as well as work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be competent in LINUX with basic shell scripting skills
  • Must understand distributed architecture
  • Must have basic networking understanding
  • Experience with port mirroring (SPAN or VACL) is a plus
  • Experience with secure protocols (SSL and HTTPS) is a plus
  • Intelligent and creative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • At least 5 years of experience as in support, engineering, or a combination of the two
