Criminals getting access to a firm’s internal intranet and stealing data via a web browser is an increasingly common threat to modern business, one technology expert has claimed. Laura Mather, founder of the US-based Silver Tail Systems, says that while a good standard firewall will usually prevent cyber criminals from coming onto your network, if your intranet is hosted on a standard browser, they can often access information by first gaining remote access to intranet itself.
